In the interview, Lee denied the rumour that the film would revolve around Clive Owen's crew of thieves becoming embroiled in a New York diamond district heist. He also confirmed that the film would shoot on location in New York and that Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Owen would all return.
Lee said that he is hopeful that shooting can begin by late summer or early fall, depending on when Terry George completes the script
But Lee isn’t about to jump into filming the first sequel of his career without a finished script. “If the script is up to snuff, we’ll be shooting it,” he says. “Here’s the thing: if everything lines up—people’s schedules are open, [we’ll begin in] late summer, early fall.”
